A little info about my experience for your prospective clients:

My mom and I needed extensive restoration,  I had 10 implants, 4 crowns and more than a dozen fillings, deep cleaning, destaining etc. and my mom needed 4 implants and fixing several others a doctor in Mexico messed up.

Dental cosmetics is a very well equipped( they even have TVs in the ceiling) very clean, and modern place, the doctors are very competent, talented, and professional. all speak excellent English, including Maria the receptionist, for that matter the only American there, Tammye, speaks perfect Spanish. The quality of work is on par with anything available in US, except it’s cheaper and faster at dental cosmetics. unlike jack of all trades in Mexico, everything is done by specialists at dental cosmetics:

Dr. Mora – the cosmetics genius
Dr. Fernandez – the surgery specialist – worked fast and didn’t feel a thing.
Dr. Bustamante – the general dentist, fillings, deep cleaning, destaining, etc.- charming and excellent work.
Dr. Hernandez – the root canal specialist- most pain free root canals i ever had, works fast and talks softly.

As I sit here on my last night in Costa Rica, I just wanted to send you a short letter of gratitude for everything you have done for me.

I spent a year researching dental implant surgery since I had decided it was my best avenue as I wanted permanent teeth. I researched clinics all over the world as the cost in North America is just ludicrous. I found your clinic on the Internet. After e-mailing Dr. Alejandro Mora back and forth over New Years 09/10 we made an appointment in January. From the first appointment on — you had sent Carlos to pick me up — I felt very confident with everyone in your office. The quality of care and professionalism was unsurpassed. Every step of the way either Dr. Alejandro Mora or Dr. Andres Fernandez fully explained the procedure and what was going to occur. The surgery to my top jaw was quite extensive with 8 implants and some bone grafting and here I am 6 months later with my new teeth. What a difference. I went through years of covering my mouth when I smiled or laughed due to the state of my teeth pre-surgery. This is absolutely life changing as I am sure a lot of your patients tell you. I never thought it would have come out as well as it did.

The extra benefit of having my dental surgery done at your office is that I get to spend time in beautiful Costa Rica.

In June 2008 I went to Costa Rica for major dental restoration. After visiting Dr. Alejandro Mora’s office I was convinced he would provide a quality service. Dr. Alejandro Mora outlined three alternative treatment options and I selected the most comprehensive plan.

I needed to remove eight teeth (tied to bridges) that were in various stages of decline and replace them with full dental implants—top and bottom. I felt taking aggressive action would ensure proper fit and alignment. The prices I was quoted in California averaged $100,000, and that was unacceptable. The total cost for the trip in June and a follow-up trip in November 2008 was $28,000 dollars for the dental implants and travel expenses of $5,000 dollars (two separate 13-day trips—treatment and vacation). I received wonderful treatment and great memories from my visits to Costa Rica.

The outcome and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. I was treated like an important customer, not just a patient. The service from Dr. Alejandro Mora Lasso and his staff was exceptional and personal. It is now over a year and a half since the treatment was completed. My local dentist, who does my teeth cleaning, continues to comment on what a great job Dr. Alejandro Mora did in the reconstruction work. The five months I had to get by with dentures made me realize how lucky I am to get a second chance with dental implants.

I was a patient of Dr. Alejandro Mora and I had a great and successful experience! My first trip there was in July 2009. I had all of my remaining teeth pulled and had 20 implants (10 upper & 10 lower). I also needed bone graft and a sinus lift. Before the surgery I had numerous panoramic X-rays, pictures, etc. I had a lot of swelling for a few days after but I never experienced any pain. I saw Dr. Alejandro Mora about every other day after the swelling had subsided so that he could observe my healing and do more X-rays and calculations. Two weeks after my surgery I had my lower crowns (fixed porcelain fused to a metal bridge).

Unfortunately, I still needed 6 months of healing so I was condemned to an upper denture and Polident until I returned to Dr. Alejandro Mora in late January 2010 to receive my upper crowns.

I have nothing to compare it to because these are the only implants I have ever had but they sure do feel like my old teeth when they were still strong. I have no problem eating anything. Dr Mora, Dr. Andres Fernandez and the whole staff made this a wonderful experience and Costa Rica is a beautiful place to go for medical or a vacation. I took my wife with me the second time and she had implants so I recommend Dr. Alejandro Mora highly or I would not have taken her. Oh, by the way, it was 1/3 of the cost of having it done in California and I thoroughly checked around.

I have estimated that over the past thirty (30) years I have spent at least $70,000 on dental care. During my childhood my father?s idea of dental care was to choose the least expensive method of care. This, plus several injuries to my face resulted in the loss of seven (7) permanent teeth. By the time I contacted Dr. Alejandro Mora almost all my teeth were crowned, I wore a partial denture which I hated and I rarely smiled due to being self- conscious about my teeth. Even with all the work I had done my mouth was still a disaster and each time I visited my dentist the care got more expensive, the quality of work decreased and I saw no end in sight. I recently married and my husband and I decided it was time to have my teeth redone. I received a $45,000 estimate from my U.S. dentist, taking eighteen (18) months to complete the work. My husband spent five (5) months exploring dental tourism and we finally decided on Dr. Alejandro Mora Lasso.

We traveled to Liberia, Costa Rica where Dr. Alejandro Mora?s colleague Dr. Andres Fernandez R. placed the implants. I had one (1) tooth pulled and immediately implanted, six (6) other implants placed and a sinus lift. We spent a week on vacation, went for a follow-up visit and flew home. Four (4) months later we returned to Costa Rica, this time to San Jose where Dr. Andres Fernandez finished off the implants and Dr. Alejandro Mora started working on the crowns. We removed all the old crowns and one week later Dr. Alejandro Mora placed all the new crowns.

The first eight (8) teeth on the top and bottom are full porcelain and the rest porcelain over metal for strength. The results were amazing. I am now proud of my smile. Dr. Alejandro Mora, Dr. Andres Fernandez and his staff did a wonderful job. They worked around our vacation schedule, around time constraints while providing me with excellent and professional care. We recently traveled again to Costa Rica to enjoy the beauty of the country and met with Dr. Alejandro Mora for one final check-up. The overall dental cost was less than a third of our $45,000 quote. I am writing this uncompensated recommendation in the hopes of helping others who need dental work and cannot afford United States prices.

‘My visit with Dr. Alejandro Mora and Dr. Andres Fernandez far surpassed my expectations . We all have fear of the pain and discomfort; however this part was very minimal. I experienced a small throb for a couple of hours. In 2 hours I was eating as much ice cream as I wanted and I went to the movies that evening. I took only 1 of the 5 pain pills I was given. My next concern was how long would I be in the chair, well it wasn’t much of a
concern after all, it only took about an hour to complete the work I needed, which included 2 teeth pulled, 2 post’s installed for my implants, some bone work and of course the stitches. I went home and took a nap for 2 hours and then I was up and doing pretty much all the stuff i usually do, eating hard foods took 4 days. In short it was a breeze for me with 2 Doctors who were both fun and informative. Talk to these guys you’ll be
glad you did.
